Labuan Day 2: Round and Round the Island We Go

Practice day!

Do you know that 6 AM in Labuan is like...7 AM in Penang? So bright and shiny.

OK. Back to practice. I have to complain about the frickin' oversized shirt JPN gave us. So f-ugly. That is an understatement. So we wore that darn shirt to practice.

So, practice for Steph and me (music and lights co-ordinator respectively) means walking up...3 flights of spiral steps up to the 4th floor and getting into the technical room. The technicians are much, much nicer than the one in P. Ramlee. Everyone here is nice. Oh. Except for Madam M. According to the actors. They hate her.

Anyway. We call them Abang Muzik, Abang Lampu and all of the other technicians Abang Technician.

So after practice, we were all hanging around at Zimmer 306 with absolutely nothing to do. So we decided to go round the island!

We took this extremely mini bus with no air-con. The bus driver is real nice. We absolutely adore him. First, we went to...this place with fishes. I can't remember what it's called. There was a beach there, and it's so darn pathetic but real nice.

Then it's the World War II Memorial. Damn I love that place. So peaceful and quiet. We found this small laminated piece of card placed by Jack McMartin lying on the ground. Since we couldn't find his tombstone, we placed it at one of those plaques with his name. At least right?

Up next, a chimney museum. I don't know. There is a huge chimney and a fake coal mine with scary dummies. I touched the chimney!

Then we stopped by this really deserted hawker place where everyone bought a coconut each. Or to share. Nice. Oh, I forgot. The so-called 'Sudut Cabaran'. So challenging, there is a piece of rotten wood in the middle of the frickin' bridge.

Then we stopped at Surrender Point and pledged for peace in front of a huge rock and a blank wall.

Last stop. Chinese temple. Very nice one too. With an underworld sub-temple.

And we went back...and crashed onto the couch.

Did I mention we hit the mall first? It's like...KOMTAR. Very deserted.
